Prof. Lee and our researcher Sukjoo Hong visited MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), USA from October 30th to November 4th to join ACADIA 2017. ACADIA, one of the sibling organization of CAADRIA, eCAADe, and SiGRaDi, facilitates critical investigations into the role of computation in architecture, planning, and building science, encouraging innovation in design creativity, sustainability, and education.
Sukjoo joined the one of the Workshop and the title of the workshop was “Machine Learning Applications for Design and the Built Environment” and the session demonstrated how to use AI technology in architecture domain. The project work was programmed with Rhino 3d and CycleGAN. The Building environments are generated with Rhino 3d and CycleGAN generates building textures based on machine learning model.
The theme of conference was “Disciplines & Disruption” about the state of the discipline of architecture and the impact of technology in shaping or disrupting design, methods and cultural fronts.
