Congratulations to Meereh Kim and Po Yan Lai on winning the 2018 Social Venture Contest (Chungcheong, Daejeon, Gangwon Region) on 7th August.
The two IBD master students, together with Kwandong Kim and Dongseok Yang from the Graduate School of Culture Technology, won the first prize in the category of general startup with their project Heritouch, which was developed on the GCT501 Introduction to Culture Technology course taught by Professor Jaehong Ahn and Professor Jean-Charles Bazin.
Heritouch is an interactive teaching aid designed for the visually impaired students, providing them an audio-tactile experience of cultural heritage. While touching along the 3D printed model of heritage, the users can enjoy the audio guide activated when their hands reach the important parts. The team impressed the judges with their awarness to the issue of cultural accessibility of people with visual impairment, as well as the ingenuity of their solution.
We look forward to hearing good news from them in the upcoming national contest that will be held in September.
